Whether you’ve lived around the pond for decades or recently moved in, we all share a deep appreciation for Santuit Pond. From morning coffee overlooking the water to kayaking, fishing, and watching local wildlife, our neighborhood is centered around this vital 170-acre resource.

However, as many of us know firsthand, the pond faces ongoing challenges with cyanobacteria blooms, stormwater runoff, ongoing nutrient loading, and invasive species. With town-wide discussions, tribal involvement, environmental grants, and current and upcoming water quality initiatives, a direct, reliable line of communication for the pond's neighbors is more important than ever.

Why We Started This Space

The goal of this publication is simple: to keep surrounding residents informed, connected, and empowered.

Here is what you can expect from this page:

  • Water Quality & Advisory Alerts: Clear, timely notices when town advisories, cyanobacteria alerts, or testing updates are issued.
  • Town & Environmental Updates: Plain-language summaries of municipal projects, alum treatment timelines, stormwater management, and watershed studies.
  • Neighborhood Best Practices: Practical, low-cost tips for property owners—like lawn care adjustments, buffer strip planting, and runoff management—to help protect our water quality.
  • Community Connection: A hub for neighborhood meetings, road and access discussions, and collaborative efforts to keep our community strong.
  • Advocacy: We will share and examine opportunities to advocate for measures to protect the pond.
